Inside the TV Box, I Found the True Story of the People of Palestine داخل صندوق التلفزيون، وجدت القصة الحقيقية لشعب فلسطين

Saleh, born in exile, first experienced Palestine through a screen before moving there for university during the Second Intifada. His performance merges storytelling and film, illustrating his shift from observer to participant and connecting his memories with those he met.

Listening Gaza: Music by Gazelleband and Reading by Bayan Haddad حكايات غزة: موسيقى من أداء فرقة غزال باند، وقراءة من بيان حداد

Gazelleband present the music of Palestine and a wider region through the medium of traditional string instruments, the oud and buzuq. Led by Gazan oud player Reem Anbar and Irish-Mancunian music researcher Louis Brehony, the group perform internationally at concerts halls, festivals, universities and solidarity gatherings.

Following on from dinner and storytelling, the hall will stay open for a solidarity performance from Leeds based, Awen Ensemble. Awen, meaning ‘poetic inspiration’ in Welsh, outlines the intention of their music to explore folkloric heritage and landscape. They take inspiration from modal tradition, spiritual jazz, and folk music found across the globe. With Celtic mystique, Awen Ensemble brings a unique offering.
