Vibration from Gaza ذبذبات من غزة
Vibrations from Gaza offers a glimpse into the experiences of Deaf children in the occupied and confined coastal territory of Gaza, Palestine. Born and growing up under siege and frequent Israeli onslaughts, Amani, Musa, Israa, Mustafa, and others provide vivid accounts of their encounters with Israeli frequent bombardment and the constant presence of drones in their sky. The children describe their perceptions of missile strikes through sensing vibrations in the air, trembling of the ground, and the resonance of collapsing buildings. The film questions whether the hearing impairment of these children is a consequence of Israel’s use of sonic weaponry, such as sonic booms, and raises questions about the deafness of the world towards the conditions under which 2.2 million Palestinians have been living since 2007.

Offing خط الافق
Offing was produced in the aftermath of the 2021 Israeli war on Palestinians residing in the Israeli-besieged Gaza strip. It engages stories told by Gaza artist Salman Nawati, against footage shot by Toukan that explores the tender and the mundane as acts of life. But also, on the inadequacy of representing suffering. Ultimately–– what narratives escape the frame of war?
