Falastin Film Festival Scotland 2026

about the festival

Now in its third year, Falastin Film Festival Scotland brings Palestinian cinema, culture, and art to Scotland, raising awareness of Zionist colonization. We strive to highlight Palestinian resistance, cultural pride, stories of love, and, in the words of poet Rafeef Ziadah, teachings of life.

What’s On

2026 festival highlights

  • Metal Memories: Sounds of the Palestinian Streets

This new exhibition is presented by Mo’min Swaitat of Majazz Project and Palestinian Sound Archive.

  • Gaza: Against The Perfect Victim

Inspired by Mohammed El-Kurd's critique of the "perfect victim," this programme brings together two films that refuse the narrow roles so often assigned to Palestinian men.

  • Parallel Time

How do we tell the stories of our prisoners? Across essay film, fiction, and documentary, this programme explores storytelling as a form of resistance against the silencing and isolation imposed by incarceration.

Our partners

With thanks to our partners:

  • “To see the rich Palestinian cultural resistance through docs and films was a rare opportunity. All our exposure to Palestine is mediated through our biased anti-Palestinian Western media.”

  • “My understanding and knowledge of the relationship between Palestinians and their land has deepened a lot–pretty much everything I knew gained new levels of depth through the films I attended!”

  • “Seeing and being exposed to stories behind the statistics brings it all to life in a way which concretises the tragic reality.”
